Join us as we share a meal and make friends with the homeless in Seattle! At Babysteps Ministry, we don't believe in handouts alone. We have learned through experience that it is only through the power of personal relationships that a homeless person can be empowered to make lasting changes in their lives. To that end, we need volunteers to do two things:
Build Relationships: Babysteps Ministry is all about building relationships with the homeless. There’s more to it than giving away food and wishing them well. We want to help the homeless feel loved, cared for, and excited to see us. The more people there to sit down and chat with the residents of City Hall Park, the better.
Serve a Meal: While we’re all about relationships, the logistics of it is that we are serving a meal. We need your help! If you’re not ready to talk to a homeless person yet, perhaps you’d like to try shopping for meal ingredients and/or sharing your culinary skill (actually, you don’t need any skills; these recipes are easy). Those options don’t even require you to go to the park! However, we also have spots available for you to come serve the food – no deep conversations necessary.
Thank you for helping us Make Homelessness Personal!
