Agenda for March 14th:
11:00- Students from West, Lafollette and Memorial will stand up and walk out of there classes and will then TRANSPORT to East high school.
11:30- East high school students will stand up and walk out, meeting on the corner of 4th street and E Washington. West, Lafollette, Memorial and all other schools from the state, parents, teachers and citizens will meet there as well.
12:00- We will begin the march down a blockaded E Washington towards the Capitol.
1:00- There will be a rally on the state street side of the Capitol. Speakers include legislatures from the State of Wisconsin, social activists, parents and students who will share there stories with gun violence.
FINALLY- We have drafted a letter that includes our five demands:

1. Universal back ground checks and holding the state accountable for enforcement.
2. Banning bump stocks.
3. Limiting magazine capacity.
4. Raising the minimum age to purchase a assault rifle or firearm to 21.
5. Making education and training more accessible.

We will then walk up to Scott Walkers office handing him the letter and attached will be as many student signatures we can get. This would be in hopes of him to hold an immediate conference addressing Wisconsin gun laws.

On March 14th, students nationwide will be standing up, together, and walking out of schools in solidarity with victims of gun violence across the United States, particularly in response to the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.
The normalization of such events must end. So long as our generation feels unsafe in our schools, we will not be silent.
We demand sensible restrictions on objects designed with the sole intent of delivering death.
The “thoughts and prayers” of politicians whose pockets bulge from the unregulated sale of assault rifles and bump stocks will not suffice. We will not stop until action is taken. We have the ability to enact tangible change so let’s not let it go to waste.

Representatives from Madison East, LaFollette, West, and Memorial High Schools have been working together to ensure that things run smoothly (and we hope to include those from other schools as well). However, we can use all the help we can get, and a great way to help push this movement is to educate ourselves and those around us. Let’s show the world that we know what we’re talking about.
