ELSA Maynooth is proud to announce the fourth annual ELSA Maynooth International Negotiation Competition!
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we would like to invite applications for the International Negotiation Competition (INC), taking place on the 23rd, 24th & 25th of March 2018, at Maynooth University, Ireland.
Universities at present are not limited to the number of teams they may enter for the competition. A team consists of 2 students.
Since its inception, the INC has become one of the biggest events of its kind in Europe, and today draws competitors from across the globe to demonstrate their negotiation skills. In the past, we have seen participants from as far afield as the United States of America and India travel to compete.
Why Negotiation?
Most disputes in which lawyers are involved do not end up in the courts. Instead, they are settled by way of some form of compromise between the parties – a negotiated agreement. In order to ensure that a client’s best interests are protected in the context of a negotiated, out-of-court agreement, it is imperative for lawyers to possess effective negotiation skills. This applies on both a national and an international level.
The ELSA Maynooth International Negotiation Competition is designed to foster the skills of negotiation in students of law at an early stage in their careers and to provide the opportunity to gain first-hand negotiation experience in an international environment!
Participant fees (per person) include accommodation for 3 nights, registration, a gala ball, a cultural and social programme, and food.*
Participant fees 2018:
ELSA Members (favoured countries): €185
ELSA Members (non-favoured countries): €200
Non-ELSA Members: €250
