After selling all the tickets in the main capitals of the world, the World Tour of Ara Malikian will travel to Beijing on January 25 to present his latest work "The Incredible History of Violin".
With his seven-piece band, this thrilling live performer will combine classical and contemporary music as he plays from a wide repertoire that includes his own unique arrangements of works by legendary artists such as David Bowie, JS Bach, Led Zeppelin and Paganini. Ara Malikian will also showcase his skills that combine folk and gypsy music with tunes such as the hypnotic Bourj Hammound and the rollicking Seespocken Tanz for two violins and guitar.
At the age of 15 Malikian became the youngest ever student to be admitted to the highly prestigious Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. This marked the first step in a glamorous career that was to follow. Since then Malikian has performed in more than 40 countries in five continents, has performed on the stages of the most important concert halls around the world and has dazzled audiences with his masterful performances on the violin.
Ara Malikian's latest album is aptly titled The Incredible Story of Violin. As he continues to perform on the instrument he knows so well, he will be sharing his stories and his music with audiences at the Barbican in London next March.
