What information You’ll get:
This National Seminar will be a platform for a wide range of deliberation on the Culture of Sanitation, tracing its roots in the Indus Valley Civilization, and taking it forward to Gandhi, to Swachh Bharat and beyond. Though sanitation was a part of human life since the ancient times, it gained importance with the development of human civilization. As civilization started to expand with its diversity, sanitation became one of the necessities of human society. The culture of sanitation refers to the ways in which different cultural groups developed attitudes, values and habits regarding sanitation. Sanitation has a long history at various levels of human civilisation.
Objectives of the Seminar:
The objective of this seminar is to hold a comprehensive dialogue to conceptualise the complex cultural, social and sanitation issues, and to develop an incisive perspective on the growth of a new culture of sanitation. The Seminar will try to set a roadmap for future strategy and interventions, and will add to the corpus of knowledge and research on the Culture of Sanitation.
India today under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has put sanitation in the centre of civilizational debate, underlining its fundamental importance and how important it is from development perspective. We will intensively debate it with a perspective to achieve the goal of a Clean India, which is a prerequisite for a developed India.
