Event Description

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Dr. David Erritzoe for a talk/discussion around recent trialing of psychedelic drugs in the treatment of mental illness. Specifically, Dr. Erritzoe will take us through the history, pharmacology and neurobiology of psychedelics, before presenting some of his groundbreaking work with them - including investigating psilocybin (magic mushrooms) for the management of treatment-resistant depression.

David Erritzoe MRCPsych PhD is a psychiatrist and Academic Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College, London. After training at Copenhagen and Columbia Universities, David joined Imperial's Centre for Neuropsychopharmacology in 2009, where he works within the psychedelic research group (alongside colleagues Professor David Nutt and Drs. Robin Cahart-Harris and Ben Sessa).

£2 for non-PsychSoc members, or pay £3 to join the society and attend all exciting lectures this year for free! We'll have sign up sheets there on the night - just bring £3 with you!

Non-medics incredibly welcome.

See you all in LT3 (1st floor on the RHS of the building as you walk in).
