The traditional Newcastle Christmas Light’s switch-on will take place on Tuesday 14th November on Grey Street at the base of Grey’s Monument.
Your favourites from Metro Radio Steve and Karen from Metro's Breakfast Show will be joined by the Lord Mayor of Newcastle, Cllr Hazel Stephenson and some other special guests – who will entertain the crowds in the run up to throwing the big switch.
The free event is being organised by Newcastle City Council in association with Newcastle NE1 and hosted by Metro Radio.
An estimated 20,000 festive lights will illuminate parts of the City including areas of Northumberland Street; Blackett Street; Percy Street; Grey Street; Grainger Street; Nun Street; Nelson Street; Newgate Street; Neville Street; and the Quayside.
The musical entertainment will be provided by Newcastle’s very own CHANNY THOMPSON and former X Factor contestant ABI GARRIDO – who will be joined on the bill by other special festive guests.
